How to Add Price Modifying Questions

This resource will walk you through the definition of price modifying questions, common scenarios to utilize them, how to create your own, and important reminders.


What Are Price Modifying Questions?

Price Modifying Questions let you to ask questions during registration that determine the amount paid by a registrant. These work great if you want to give participants the option to purchase extra items during registration, opt out of a fundraiser by making a payment, or adjust pricing based on age divisions.

These questions are in the form of a dropdown. The registrant selects their preferred option, and a set amount is automatically added to the program’s base price when they check out.


🛠 How to Set up Price Modifiers

  1. Either create a new program or edit an existing one
  2. Navigate to Step 3 when creating a new program or scroll down to the Additional Questions section
  3. Click + Add New Question
  4. Select Dropdown and enter in your question text
  5. Turn on the Answer Can Modify Price option.
  6. Enter the dollar amount that should be added for each answer choice.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

  • The base price of the program will always apply, and any additional costs will be added on top
  • Registrants will see the updated total when they reach checkout
