How to offer Accident & Injury Insurance at registration

Please note that this coverage is only offered for US-based select sports using the Player Registration form.

  1. Navigate to your Programs page and create a new program
  2. On Step #1, select the sport that the registration form pertains to. This is an important step as this is how the overall insurance cost is determined. Be sure that you are selecting the sport that is relevant to the individual program and not just your organization.

  1. Complete Step #2 and Step #3 as normal.
  2. Step #4 has a section called Insurance Offerings. By default, these are toggled on. Proceed with creating your registration form as normal if you'd like to offer these optional protection plans.

  1. That's it! Registrants who qualify will be able to opt into purchasing Accident & Injury insurance. If they choose to purchase the plan, they'll receive a separate email with their policy information.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work once registrants pay?

If a registrant chooses to pay for the optional Accident & Injury Insurance, they will get a separate email receipt from ViCoverage which includes the charge amount, policy/certificate ID, and coverage effective dates.

How can registrants file a claim for reimbursement through ViCoverage?

If a registrant is injured during the activity, they can easily file a claim for reimbursement in just a few clicks by visiting: customers.vicoverage.com.

Why do families need this?

Accident & Injury Insurance helps cover costs that regular health insurance doesn’t. If a participant gets hurt during a sport or activity, this insurance can help pay for things like a high deductible. It works best alongside regular health insurance, but families can still use it even if they don’t have a health plan.

What does this insurance cover?

Accident & Injury Insurance covers up to $5,000 of out-of-pocket medical expenses if the participant is injured while participating in a registered activity. The participant's health plan’s deductible can be included as an out-of-pocket medical expense. Primary health insurance must be used first. If primary insurance is not used, or if they do not have primary health insurance, benefits may be limited to $2,000.

How is cost determined?

The cost is based on several factors: the participant's age, sport or activity and location. Pricing is calculated automatically after basic details are entered and displayed during registration, so registrants always see the exact cost before deciding whether to purchase coverage.

How long does the claim process take?

Registants who file a claim can except an update within 5-7 business days after submitting the claim. Once all required documents are provided and the claim is approved, ViCoverage typically issues payment within 30 days. If registrants have questions, they can contact support@vicoverage.com.

Can participants purchase Accident & Injury Insurance after completing their registration?

Yes. Accident & Injury Insurance is still available to participants after they have completed their registration. Participants can visit https://jersey-watch.vicoverage.com/ and complete a quick form to receive a personalized quote and purchase coverage.
Once purchased, participants will receive a confirmation email with their policy information, coverage details, and resources for support or filing a claim.
